Vashon Community Care is looking for a TEMPORARY SOCIAL WORKER for our Assisted Living and Nursing home on Vashon Island. The Social Worker is an integral member of the Interdisciplinary team responsible for assuring that quality social services are provided to residents and their families throughout the process of admission and care while in the Vashon Community Care Center. He/She also serves as the primary advocate for the resident throughout his/her stay in the facility. The social worker also works with the resident, family and staff to promote a therapeutic community to develop supportive relationships and provide quality care. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1. MSW required. Two to three year experience working with older adults in community-based programs. 2. Minimum of 3 years management experience, LTC setting preferred. 3. Knowledge of and experience working with the Aging Network, DSHS, and community resources. 4. High level of problem-solving ability and creativity. 5. Team player but able to function well independently. 6. Excellent communication skills with older adults, families and coworkers. 7. Superior written and verbal communication skills.
